Couple Pulse
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 10 January 2026
Last Updated: 8 June 2026
Couple Pulse is an iOS mobile application for couples designed to create a sense of presence through shared digital experiences. Couple Pulse is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, why we process it, how we share it, and what choices you have.

1) Summary (Key Points)
-
Two-person experience: Couple Pulse app is designed for two linked partners. Once linked, content you submit to couple features is intended to be visible to your linked partner, subject to in-app visibility controls.
-
Heartbeat detection: Couple Pulse uses your device during the heartbeat feature to estimate beat-to-beat timing from changes in light captured while you use the feature. We do not store raw camera video or raw camera frames captured while using the Heartbeat feature. If you save a heartbeat recording, we store a derived timing sequence and related metadata (for example, a title you provide and a timestamp) used to replay the experience. Depending on your plan and the version of the Service, saved recordings may be limited (for example, free users may only be able to view the most recent saved recording per person, while subscribed users may have access to recording history). If the Service offers a “Replace” option, replacing a recording makes a newer recording the current one shown in the Service; previous recordings may be retained as history items depending on your plan. “Replace” is not a permanent deletion unless the Service explicitly provides a separate permanent deletion option.
-
No sale of personal data: We do not sell personal data, as “sell” is defined under applicable law.
-
Controls: You can manage iOS permissions and manage certain in-app content. You can also initiate account deletion (see Section 8).
-
No tracking: We do not use data collected in the app for tracking as defined by Apple (i.e., linking user/device data collected from this app with data from other companies’ apps/websites for advertising).
-
Heartbeat-related information may be treated as health-related or sensitive data under certain laws. We use it only to provide the heartbeat features you request and to share it with your linked partner when you choose to do so.
2) Information We May Process
We process information to operate Couple Pulse, link partners, deliver in-app experiences, and provide quizzes/memories. We distinguish between (1) heartbeat-derived content (live timing events and saved recordings) and (2) telemetry/diagnostics (feature usage events and technical logs). Heartbeat-derived content is not used for advertising or tracking purposes.
A) Information you provide
-
Profile information: Nickname, optional full name, avatar.
-
Account and authentication: Account identifiers, login method, authentication/security tokens, account timestamps.
-
Couples content (UGC): Quiz answers, favorites/saved memory actions, drawings/canvas content, photos uploaded as answers or backgrounds, and “heartbeat recording” titles.
-
Support communications: information you provide when you contact support (messages, attachments, and troubleshooting details).
-
Onboarding responses: Information you provide during onboarding, which may include demographic details you choose to share and relationship preferences. If you create an account, we store these responses to set up and personalize your experience. You may skip certain onboarding questions and still use the Service.
-
Pre-account data: Some information may be entered before you create an account. If you choose to create an account, we associate the information with your account and store it; if you do not create an account, the information is not saved to our servers.
B) Information generated when you use Couple Pulse
-
Heartbeat detection (derived data): On-device processing to estimate beat-to-beat timing and generate derived timing events for the experience and quality guidance. If you save a recording, we may store a derived timing sequence and related metadata.
-
Live heartbeat sharing (real time): Heartbeat timing events are transmitted to your linked partner in real time to produce synchronized haptics. Live events are intended to be transient and not intended as a stored history of beats.
-
Technical/diagnostic data: We process basic server logs (such as IP address, request timestamps, and device/app information) to operate the Service, maintain security, and troubleshoot issues. We may also receive crash reports and diagnostics (for example, from Apple) to improve stability.
-
Distance Widget location data: If you enable the optional Distance Widget, we may process your device’s precise location, timestamp, and limited technical metadata needed to operate the feature. We store only the latest known location point for this feature and do not store movement history, routes, or a location trail.
We may use internal reports (for example, database queries) to understand feature usage and improve the Service.
-
Push notification and messaging data: If notifications or in-app messages are enabled, we and our messaging service providers may process device/app identifiers, push subscription identifiers or tokens, notification permission status, app version, device and language settings, timezone/country, session activity, and notification interaction data (for example, opens/clicks) to deliver notifications and in-app messages, measure delivery and engagement, maintain reliability, and support segmentation and analytics. If we enable additional channels such as email in the future, we may also process the contact information needed to deliver those messages.
C) Purchases and subscriptions (if you buy something)
If you purchase a subscription or other in-app purchase on iOS, Apple processes the payment using your Apple ID and Apple’s in-app purchase system. We process subscription status, lifetime entitlement status, purchase-related identifiers, and related billing/entitlement events (for example, renewal, expiration, cancellation, refund, restore, or verification status) as needed to validate access to paid features, restore purchases, prevent fraud or abuse, and support shared premium access where applicable. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
We may use a subscription management provider to help verify subscription status and premium entitlements.
Certain paid features may be shared at the couple level. If either partner in a linked couple has an active subscription, both partners may receive access to shared paid features while the couple remains linked. Billing and subscription management remain tied to the purchaser’s Apple ID.
3) Device Permissions
Couple Pulse requests access to certain device features when you choose to use features that require them. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.
-
Camera: Used when you use the heartbeat feature and when you choose to capture/upload a photo. We do not store raw camera video or raw camera frames captured during the heartbeat feature; photos you choose to upload are stored as user content.
-
Photo Library: Used to select and upload photos (for example, as a quiz answer or drawing background). Uploaded photos are stored so they can be displayed to you and your linked partner.
-
Notifications: Used to deliver optional push notifications such as service updates, reminders, and partner-related activity. You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings.
-
Location: Used if you enable the optional Distance Widget. This feature may request access to your device’s precise location. If precise location is not available, the feature may be unavailable.
4) How We Use Information
We use information to:
-
Provide and operate the Couple Pulse service (accounts, linking, features)
-
Determine eligibility for paid features and validate subscription/entitlement status (if applicable).
-
Enable partner experiences and sharing within the linked couple space
-
Provide the optional Distance Widget, including calculating and displaying an approximate distance between linked partners’ devices

-
Provide quizzes, answers, memories, and collaborative drawings
-
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
-
Provide customer support and respond to requests
-
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
-
Improve and develop features, including debugging, usage queries and performance optimization
-
Communicate with you about the service (e.g., important notices, security updates)
-
Set up and personalize your experience using onboarding responses.
-
Invite you to optional feedback, surveys, or interviews to improve the Service, and administer incentives you choose to participate in (for example, promotional access to paid features).
-
Send optional notifications and in-app messages related to the service, including reminders, service updates, and partner-related activity
-
Measure notification delivery, engagement, and messaging performance, and improve notification timing, targeting, and reliability
-
If enabled and where permitted, communicate with you about new features, updates, or promotional offers, subject to your notification/email preferences
We do not use heartbeat-related data for advertising or tracking.
5) Partner Sharing and Visibility
Couple Pulse is designed for two linked partners. Subject to in-app visibility rules, your linked partner may be able to see couple-space content, including your displayed profile details, saved heartbeat recordings (derived timing sequence and metadata), quiz answers, shared memories, drawings/canvas content, and photo answers or backgrounds.
Important: Your partner may screenshot or otherwise copy content displayed on their device; we cannot prevent this. If you do not want something shared with your partner, do not submit it in couple-shared features.
Unlinking. You may request to unlink by contacting support (and, if available in your version of the Service, using in-app controls). When we process an unlink request, we disable the link between accounts and delete couple-scoped content from our active systems (for example, shared answers, saved items, photos shared within the couple space, and saved heartbeat recordings), subject to legal, security, and technical constraints. Your partner may retain copies of content previously displayed on their device (for example, screenshots), and we cannot remove those copies. Deleted data may persist in backups for a limited period consistent with our backup schedules (see Section 7).
If you and your partner enable the optional Distance Widget, each partner may be able to see an approximate distance between the partners’ devices. The feature does not display raw coordinates, an address, a map, or a region to the other partner.
6) How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate Couple Pulse, comply with law, and protect the service. We do not sell personal data.
-
Service providers: We use third-party service providers to host and operate the service (for example, authentication, databases, storage). These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions. We require service providers to protect personal data consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
-
Subscription management providers: We may use third-party service providers to help process subscription status, entitlement status, purchase-related identifiers, restore events, and related billing/verification data needed to operate Paid Features and prevent fraud or abuse.
-
Apple services: Apple may process data related to in-app purchases/subscriptions, Sign in with Apple (if used), App Store distribution, and related services.
-
Legal and safety disclosures: We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or detect/prevent/address fraud, security, or technical issues.
-
We do not share heartbeat-derived timing sequences or rhythm content with advertising partners, data brokers, or analytics vendors. We may collect limited telemetry (for example, that a feature was used, or whether an action succeeded or failed) and technical diagnostics to operate and secure the Service.
-
We may use third-party survey tools to collect feedback you choose to provide.
-
Messaging and notification providers: We use third-party providers to deliver push notifications, in-app messages, and, if enabled, other communication channels such as email. These providers may process identifiers, device/app information, session activity, notification interaction data, and related metadata on our behalf.
7) Data Retention and Deletion
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
-
Account and profile data: Retained while your account is active; deleted when you delete your account (subject to legal/backup constraints)
-
Couple link and couple-space content: Retained while the couple exists. When an account is deleted, we delete shared couple-space content from our active systems (subject to legal, security, and backup constraints). Because couple-space content is shared, deleting an account may delete shared content for both partners.
-
Unlink deletion. If you unlink/unpair, we delete couple-scoped content from our active systems as described in Section 5, subject to legal, security, and technical constraints. Deleted data may persist in backups for a limited period.
-
Saved recordings. Depending on your plan and the version of the Service, we may retain multiple saved recordings as history items even if only the most recent recording is shown in the default view for free users. If the Service offers a “Replace” option, replacing a recording makes a newer recording the current one shown in the Service; previous recordings may be retained as history items depending on your plan. Permanent deletion of saved recordings occurs when you unlink/unpair or delete your account (subject to legal, security, and backup constraints) unless the Service explicitly provides a separate permanent deletion option for a specific item. Live heartbeat timing events are intended to be transient and are not designed as a stored history.
-
Backups: Our infrastructure may maintain backups for reliability and disaster recovery. Deleted data may persist in backups for a limited period consistent with our backup schedules.
-
Distance Widget location data: If you enable the optional Distance Widget, we retain only the latest known location point for the feature, we do not maintain a location history or route log for this feature.
8) Your Choices and Rights
-
Access and correction: You can update certain profile details in the app. You may contact us for help accessing or correcting information you cannot change in-app.
-
Delete your data. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete Account). If you are linked at the time you delete your account, deleting your account removes the couple link and deletes couple-scoped content from our active systems, subject to legal, security, and backup constraints. If available in your version of the Service, you may also unlink/unpair to delete couple-scoped content without deleting your account
-
Account deletion (in-app): You can initiate account deletion within the app (Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account deletes your account/profile data and removes the couple link (if linked). Important: Because Couple Pulse core features operate inside a couple space, deleting an account while linked may delete couple-scoped content for both partners from our active systems, subject to legal, security, and backup constraints
-
Account deletion (by contact): If you cannot access the app, you can contact us to request deletion via email to support@couplespaceinc.com (verification may be required).
-
Opt out of non-essential emails. You can opt out of feedback/research invitations by following the unsubscribe instructions in the email, directly requesting that through email, or by contacting support@couplespaceinc.com.
-
Notifications and communications: You can control push notification permissions in iOS Settings. If we offer in-app controls for reminders, promotional notifications, or other communication preferences, you can manage those settings in the app. If we enable email communications in the future, you may also be able to opt out using unsubscribe instructions in the email where applicable.
9) Safety and Abuse Reporting (UGC)
Couple Pulse is a private, two-person experience and not a public social network. Users may upload content (e.g., photos or text) within the app that may be shared.
-
Reporting: You can report objectionable content or abuse using the in-app “Report a problem” feature (if available) or by emailing support@couplespaceinc.com. Please include your user ID, screenshots (if available), and a description.
-
Review & actions: We may review reports and take action, including removing content where feasible, restricting features, or suspending accounts.
-
Blocking / restricting access. Depending on the version of the Service, you may be able to restrict interaction with a linked user (for example, by unlinking/unpairing or disabling sharing). When implemented, this may stop further sharing and prevent future content exchange. If you unlink/unpair, we delete couple-scoped content from our active systems as described in Section 5, subject to legal, security, and backup constraints
10) Security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information and reduce unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse, including access controls, secure infrastructure practices, and monitoring for abuse.
11) International Transfers
Couple Pulse may be used globally. Information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
12) Children’s Privacy
Couple Pulse is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Couple Pulse, please contact us at support@couplespaceinc.com.
13) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. If changes are material, we will provide notice in the app or through other appropriate means.
